STEFFI 'N STANLEY

THIS PAGE WILL HAVE INTERESTING 'HAPPENINGS'  BETWEEN THE TWO DOGS. AS I WRITE THIS, STEFFI CAME UP TO THE COUCH, STEALTHILY PUSHED HER HEAD UP BETWEEN MY LEG AND THE ARM OF THE COUCH. SHE STAYED THERE QUIETLY UNTIL I PATTED HER ON THE HEAD. SUFFICIENTLY COMPENSATED SHE WENT OFF TO PLAY WITH STANLEY.

Today Stanley is trying to outsmart his sister. She is the stronger personality so he has to be sly to do it. He will jump into another chair or over on the couch and wrestle with a toy until she jumps up there to take it away from him. When she arrives he gives up without a struggle, drops the toy and scuttles over to where she was and gets the tidbit she had that he wanted.

 February 2, 2009. I am sitting on the sofa working. Stanley has been my left armrest for the past two hours. He has refused to move a muscle. It is unusual but Steffi has been up and down on the other end of the couch without bothering him or pushing him out of the way. She is now on hind tippy toes looking out through the louvres and she is giving me the choked raptor sound so there must be at least two squirrels on the lawn. Just now she came running back, launched herself on top of Stanley and he groggily jumped off. He is now sitting on the floor in front of her trying to stare her down.

To no avail. She is not budging. She is sitting along side me in what she considers her rightful entitlement. Finally she jumps down and they are doing their 'tigers in Little Black Sambo' act. If you don't know what I mean take a few minutes and Google it. I doze off and Stanley wakes me with his whiskers fanning my left eyebrow. When I open my eyes he just sits and stares at me.
